Meteor Communications (Europe) Ltd is well known for it’s meteor burst radio technology, but increasingly, their customers including the Environment Agency, Water companies and the Olympic Delivery Authority have been looking for solutions that use the cellular networks to provide connectivity to the Meteor data centre.

Eseye were invited to work with Meteor to supply GPRS and GSM connectivity for the environmental monitoring applications. As part of the M2M+ service, Eseye were able to supply technical assistance to Meteor’s engineering team and enable the next generation of GPRS connected devices.

While cellular coverage in the UK is excellent, it is a fact that every mobile operator has patches with poor or no coverage. Eseye are able to supply SIM cards that will connect to any of the UK mobile networks.

This is particularly important to users such as the Environment Agency frequently need to install mobile monitoring stations at very short notice. The Eseye AnyNet SIM cards mean that immediately the monitoring station is deployed the SIM card will connect using which ever mobile network has the best coverage and can start sending the measurements made to the Meteor Data centre.

Eseye’s strong engineering base gives customers who need reliable connectivity the confidence that they are not just taking a contract on a SIM card, but they will receive a connectivity service with full support.
