Silicon Chip SIMs

Conventionally , SIM cards are manufactured in the ISO 7816-1 shape, rectangular with a corner cut off. For many applications this works well. Subscribers are able to change handset and move the SIM card to their new handset, or replace the SIM card and use an existing handset. For M2M applications there are a number of disadvantages including the cost of the connector, the size of the card, the temperature specification and the risk of theft.

Eseye can supply the SIM card functionality in a Surface Mount (QFN 8) package for M2M applications. The QFN package is be soldered to the circuit board as part of the circuit assembly process, and can remain inactive until the final proiduct reaches the hands of the consumer.

Eseye can supply Chip SIMs for any particular network, or as an AnyNet which will pick up the network with the best signal.
