Managed APNs
One service provider for all your connections – anywhere, any operator. Only from Eseye.
Eseye recognises that you may already have an estate of M2M connections. But you wish to utilise Eseye's value added services and standardise on one configuration and service provider.
Not a problem – Eseye can seamlessly integrate non-Eseye SIMs into its service management systems. This provides you with:
- One global access point
- Access to local operator data costs
- Access to all of Eseye's value added services e.g. geo-fencing or closed user groups.
- One standard configuration – Eseye manages any operator specific configuration variations
- One point of contact for all M2M connections
Not only can this aid integration of existing connections, but it removes any concerns about acquiring other estates, thus significantly reducing such economic barriers.
One service provider for all your connections – anywhere, any operator. Only from Eseye.
Serval - optimised data delivery
Secure, power efficient and lowest possible cost. Too good to be true – not from Eseye.
All too often communications are designed on the assumption that they will be connected over a LAN / WAN where data is free on a marginal basis. And this is entirely understandable.
But when the link is moved to a mobile connection every byte costs. So optimising the interface will generate directly proportional savings. And often the network protocol(s) used account for more bytes than the actual data payload – in some instances up to 97%!
That is why Eseye has developed its Serval solution. This eliminates the need for mobile devices to use high overhead network protocols, such as TCP/IP, and even more importantly, power drain to support this transmission.
Serval acts as a post-box, allowing devices to communicate with the enterprise via simple message posts, using efficient datagram based protocols. As soon as the message is posted and acknowledged, there is no further data transmission or battery drain.
But Serval doesn’t stop there. Perhaps the message was a meter reading. There is no need for the meter to send a time stamp or even the meter ID – Eseye can combine this information with the meter reading and then reliably forward this to your servers in a defined format.
Serval is coupled to the APN and can use this to determine which remote units are currently connected to the network. Therefore, messages for devices posted to Serval from the enterprise are stored until the destination device connects. Immediately the device has registered, Serval will transmit the message. For battery powered devices, this completely removes the need to maintain a permanent connection. Furthermore, Serval allows messages to be pushed to remote devices without exposing them to the internet and the dangers of attack.
Designed from the ground up for reliability, the Serval service is fully redundant. Data sent from the remote device is acknowledged and then stored in a secure database. Battery operated remote units are then able to quickly return to sleep mode. Data received from remote devices is processed using customer supplied rules.

Low power = extended operating life
How many years’ operational life do you need? Who else can deliver?
Combined with Serval, Eseye delivers game changing improvements in device power consumption. Not only is this a question of selecting the optimal hardware components, but also considering how data is captured, stored, transmitted and then processed.
For example, often refrigeration applications require monitoring of temperature every hour. However, unless there is an out of range reading, this does not need to be reported immediately. This means that a day’s readings can be sent in one short burst, which can be optimised to minimise data costs– sending one more bit of data would double the data costs
A prime example of this is Eseye's Cool-Tel solution. This operates for one year on just one battery set. Other applications monitoring fuel tank levels will operate for five years.
This is just another example of Eseye's unique approach to deliver market leading solutions. This is what M2M+ really delivers.
