Situation

WiMAC is a product development company that has developed a market leading street lighting control and management solution. The solution enabled local government to remotely dim street lighting while at the same time monitoring energy usage.

The problems WiMAC were experiencing were around poor connectivity, service and flexibility from a local mobile network operator. Also the business required custom billing formats with additional information to provide independent audit proofs of operation to the local government.

Lastly they were being asked to quote and deliver solutions across the world, however the support and integration issues associated with managing these remote devices was rapidly becoming unsustainable.

Solution

Initially WiMAC had looked towards the local MNO for the local and international connectivity but they quickly realised this would be difficult to manage and become fragmented as the deployments expanded.

WiMAC chose Eseye for a connectivity service provider who could deliver a single connectivity solution that would help them roll out the product across the UK and Europe, supporting their growing base in the USA and internationally. Eseye supplied a single integrated connectivity and management platform interfacing to the best operator for each deployment.
